Woman killed in road mishap at Dukkar Khind

The couple left home at around 8.30 am, and Pradeep was taking Kanchan to Sus Road to drop her at her workplace, when at Dukkar Khind, a speeding truck rammed into the vehicle, killing Kanchan on the spot.

A woman was killed and her husband injured after a speeding truck knocked down the motorcycle on which they were riding, at Dukkar Khind, near Chandni Chowk, on Sunday.

Police have identified the deceased as Kanchan Honmane (33), a resident of Raikar Mala in Wadgaon Dhayari. Police said her husband Pradeep Baburao Honmane (44) was riding the two-wheeler. Kanchan operated a beauty parlour on Sus Road, while Pradeep worked in a private firm in Bavdhan.

The couple left home at around 8.30 am, and Pradeep was taking Kanchan to Sus Road to drop her at her workplace, when at Dukkar Khind, a speeding truck rammed into the vehicle, killing Kanchan on the spot.

Pradeep was injured and has been admitted to a hospital. Eye witnesses said that the mishap took place when the truck tried to avoid a pothole, sped out of control and hit the two-wheeler. An offence has been registered against the truck driver at Warje police station.
