The son of Pune Shiv Sena chief Vinayak Nimhan has been booked for allegedly assaulting a sub-inspector.
Vinayak’s son, Sunny Nimhan, was reportedly in a scuffle with Sachin Dongare, 30, a resident of Mukundnagar, over a land dispute when sub-inspector Tanaji Bhogam of Chaturshringi Police tried to intervene and stop it. Dongare was booked along with Nimhan and arrested by the police after Bhogam registered an FIR against the duo under sections 353, 160 and 504 of the Indian penal Code. A magisterial court granted them bail.
“Complainant PSI had reached the spot in Baner where the two parties were quarreling over an alleged land grabbing issue. When the PSI tried to do his duty and requested them to calm down, both the persons ignored his instructions and continued to fight and hit each other,” reads the complaint. Meanwhile, residents of the ex-army men society in Baner where the alleged land-grabbing case occurred gave a letter to Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, who was visiting the city on Sunday, demanding action for the actions of Sunny Nimhan and Sena city chief Vinayak Nimhan.
