The speed of all trains with Linke-Hofmann-Busch (LHB) coaches will gradually be increased to 130 kmph between Pune and Daund, as opposed to the previous speed of 110 kmph in this stretch. After Central Railway (CR) General Manager Naresh Lalwani’s approval to increase train speeds on the Pune-Daund route to 130 kmph, the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Visakhapatnam Express (18520) became the first train to run at this higher speed on August 28.
Lalwani gave the green light for trains to run at 130 kmph on August 26 to increase the track’s capacity.

Before the decision was taken, a technical inspection of the section was conducted and a thorough assessment of the route and inspection of the track was conducted.
