Traffic cops get 150 barricades,10 wardens

To cope with the traffic congestion at various points in Hinjewadi IT park,the Hinjewadi Industries Association (HIA) has given the Pune traffic cops 150 barricades and 10 trained traffic wardens.

Vishwas Pandhare,deputy commissioner of police (traffic control),said,“These barricades will be used to create a separate lane for vehicular traffic from Wakad flyover to Shivaji Chowk. The traffic on the flyover will be made one way from Pune to Hinjewadi during peak traffic hours.”

Pandhare added,“We are at present giving training to 10 traffic wardens. They will soon be deployed at various points in Hinjewadi.” He said people travelling to Pune from Hinjewadi can either go straight or take a right turn from below the flyover,there is no need to take a U-turn after the flyover.

HIA president Mritunjay Singh,vice-president Unmesh Bhatija,secretary Sunil Peshwani and treasurer Keder Paranjpye were also present on the occasion.
