The crime branch of Pune Rural Police have arrested a 30-year-old ticket collector employed with the Indian Railways for allegedly duping 13 persons to the tune of Rs 41 lakh on the pretext of giving their cars on rent to companies in Talegaon area.
Cops said the suspect,identified as Santosh Dagdu Ovhal,a resident of Yashwantnagar in Talegaon Dabhade,would contact four-wheeler owners and promise to offer them good returns if they rent out their vehicles to companies. After he started avoiding the four-wheeler owners,they lodged a complaint with the police.

According to the police,Ovhal had either sold the cars or rented them without paying the owners. Police have recovered 12 four-wheelers,including two multi-utility vehicles.
