Three-day event to mark World Food Day

The Department of Food Science and Nutrition at SNDT College of Home Science and Association of Food Scientist and Technologist have jointly organised a three-day programme between October 28 and 30 to mark World Food Day.

The Department of Food Science and Nutrition at SNDT College of Home Science and Association of Food Scientist and Technologist have jointly organised a three-day programme between October 28 and 30 to mark World Food Day. Professionals from food processing industries,manufacturers of food processing equipment,officials from government and voluntary organisations will be attending the programme,which includes lectures and discussions by experts from the field of food processing and equipment manufacturers. A cooking competition will also be held. World Food Day is observed on October 16 and the theme for this year is ‘Achieving Food Security in Times of Crisis’. It is aimed to draw attention to increase agricultural and food production and take measures to combat poverty,hunger and malnutrition.
