Pune men and women dominated the proceedings to claim the overall championship in the 39th edition of the Maharashtra state cross-country championship which concluded at the Shiv Chhatarapti Sports complex near here today. Promising long distance runner Mohammed Younus of Pune claimed the gold by winning the men's 12 kilometer race clocking a time of 39.00 07 minutes. The womens eight kiometer race was a tough one as Vijaymala Patil won gold pipping Neelima Kadam of Pune with a time of 29:43:3 minutes. Reshma Devi of Pune bagged the bronze. Prinjal Gogoi of Pune won the men's four kilometers race with a time of 14.40.06 minutes. The womens four kilometre event was won by Jyoti Gavate of Aurangabad.
