Daffodils Holidays is organising a film making workshop at the Kanha National Park and the Tadoba Nature Reserve in India and Kruger National Park in South Africa. Conducted in co-operation with the Forest Department of Maharsahtra and Madhya Pradesh the copy of the films will be given to the respective forest departments. This workshop is aimed at wildlife enthusiasts and conservationists who would like to get trained to make wildlife films for documentation. Award winning film director Mayuri Panse and Swapnil Kumbhojkar of Daffodils have designed the course. Every batch will have forest guards / officers who will undergo film making training along with other students. The students will also film the human-animal conflict issues and understand the grievances of the local villages. They will be making films on various themes such as the tigers,wild dogs,herbivores,reptiles,human animal conflict,dependence of livelihood of nearby villages on the forest,conservation efforts by forest department,and so on. Their films will be screened in a competition held post course. The Kanha National Park / Tadoba Nature Reserve workshops will be held in May and Kruger National Park,South Africa in May,July and August. The course duration is of one week.
Film premiere
The film,Lalbaug Parel,which is based on the mill strike of 1982 and the trials and tribulations of a mill-workers family affected by the strike will be premiered in the city today in the presence of the director and starcast of the film.Known for his films on social messages,director Mahesh Manjrekars film is bilingual with the Marathi version titled Lalbaug Parel – Zhali Mumbai Sonyachi and City Of Gold – Mumbai 1982: Ek Ankahi Kahani in Hindi. Produced by Arun Rangachari it has Satish Kaushik,Seema Biswas,Siddharth Jadhav,Ankush Chaudhary,Karan Patel and so on. The cast and crew will be present at City Pride Kothrud at 05:30 pm.
Nature holiday
For all those who want to beat the heat amidst nature,a two hour drive from the city in Baramati promises to be a good respite.
