A six-year-old daughter of a labourer was allegedly kidnapped,sexually assaulted and hit with a stone on the head in Wadmukhwadi area of the city on Sunday. The girl is now undergoing treatment at Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital. Sudhakar Kate,senior inspector,Vishrantwadi police,said,The girl was found near near Thorlya Paduka chowk on Alandi Road,with severe head injuries. Further medical examination revealed she had been sexually assaulted. Her earrings have also been robbed. The doctors have done a CT scan of her head and her condition is being closely observed.
We have also started a search for a man,who is also a labourer in the same area,whom we suspect committed the crime, He added. Police suspect the assailant is known to the girls family.
