In a second case of political activists creating ruckus in an education institute during admission period,the principal with Garware College was threatened while a staffer was beaten by 10-15 political activists.

As per the complaint registered by Shrikant Gupta,about 10-15 activists from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) had come to his office Friday afternoon asking him to allow a candidate to apply for the admission process of Class XI even though the cut of date was July 31. A complaint in this regard has been registered against Jairaj Landage,Prakash Duge and 10 to 15 more persons from the MNS.

Gupta told Newsline,They were asking for an admission of a candidate. We repeatedly told them that it was not possible. Then they beat up a college staffer and threatened me. We were following the rules set by the Centralised Admission Process (CAP).

The police said the activists also threatened that they will commit self immolation. Investigating officer S S Salunke of Deccan Gymkhana police said,This is the second such incident during the CAP,where the political activists have threatened or pressurised the authorities.

On Wednesday,activists from the youth wing of Shiv Sena had gheraoed the deputy director of education (Pune region) Suman Shinde,during the ongoing CAP. The activists have been booked for section of unlawful gathering,voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation.

MNS leader Ranjit Shirole said,There was a proper communication earlier inquiring about availability of seats. They did not respond. This is a false case.
