Veteran socialist thinker and left- progressive ideologue Rajaram Parshuram alias R P Nene (80) passed away on Tuesday after a brief illness.
He was admitted to a private hospital in the city last month. Till then he was active in social life. The end came around 11.30 am. His body was donated to a hospital as per his wish.
Nene was well known as a socialist thinker and was active in various socialist movements. He participated in Independence Movement during his college days. He secured bachelors degree in Arts with Economics as special subject in 1950. He had an inclination towards Marxists ideology.
He was involved in various research projects as principal research assistant that had a direct impact on society. He was also actively associated with various social organisations such as Samaj Vidnyan Akademi,Buddhipramanyavadi Manch and Lok Swatantrata Sanghatana. His progressive thoughts and intellectual contribution had impact on many of them.
