Retro Rewind

Rachit and The Crew will be belting out a heady mix of covers from the ‘60s to the ‘80s today,at Doolally’s Acoustica in The 1st Brewhouse. The gig will begin at 8.30pm. Rachit Lakhmani is a Pune-based singer-songwriter who has performed at various events across India. His songs,aimed at social change,are themed around subjects that range from politics to peace. He will be accompanied by Ujjwal Raaj Sen on the guitar,as they perform their repertoire inspired by the legends — from Bob Dylan to The Beatles.

Funk it Out

Get a slice of music by popular Indie band,Shaa’ir + func,at High Spirits,from 8:30 pm tonight. The band has garnered recognition as VH1’s top emerging artistes of 2007,best independent artistes of 2008 (VH1),nominations from the AVIMA foundation as Best Dance Act in South-East Asia,and recognition from the Jack Daniel Rock Awards for best female front-woman of a band,among others. Their music includes a heavy dose of experimentation within the popular genres of dance,electronic and rock music.
