The road repair work from Sancheti Chowk to Pune University Chowk is being done as per the instructions of Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority Metropolitan Commissioner Dr Yogesh Mhase, PMRDA officials said.
Dnyaneshwar Bhale, PMRDA spokesperson said, “The road from Sancheti Chowk to Pune Vidyapeeth Chowk was damaged due to rain. Drivers were facing problems due to potholes at various places. Taking cognizance of this, Mhase had held a meeting with the authorities concerned, inspected the site and instructed them to repair the road immediately.”
Accordingly, engineers of Pune IT City Metro Line (PITCMRL) and PMRDA together inspected the site and repaired the road from Sancheti Chowk to Pune Vidyapeeth Chowk on Saturday. The pending work was done on Sunday.
“The road was leveled and cleaned before being repaired. After this, the work of filling the pits, asphalting, and concreting was completed. For this, retired secretary of Public Works Department (PWD) Mandpe was appointed through PITCMRL. Along with this, the work will be done in phases in the future as per requirement,” said Bhale.
