Rajnath Singh visit: Traffic changes in force from 8 am to 2 pm today

The Pimpri Chinchwad traffic police on Wednesday notified traffic changes that will be in force on Thursday for the proposed visit of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. The traffic changes will be in force from 8 am till 2 pm on Thursday in the Bavdhan area.

On Thursday morning, Singh is scheduled to preside over the sixth convocation ceremony of Symbiosis Skills and Professional University and inauguration of the School of Defence and Aerospace Technology. The event will be held at the institute’s campus at Kiwale. Later, the Defence Minister is slated to attend a meeting at the Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE), a DRDO facility in Pune.

Vehicles coming from Mulshi to Bavdhan and Pashan via Viva Circle will not be allowed. These vehicles will be diverted via NCC Office Bhugaon, Kothrud and True Value Underpass. Vehicles coming from Chandani Chowk Satara lane service road to Bavdhan and Pashan via Viva Chowk will not be allowed. These vehicles will be diverted via Kothrud or via DIY showroom.

At the convocation ceremony, 1,532 students will be graduating from various skill-based and professional programmes. The School of Defence and Aerospace Technology said the initiative is designed to support India’s growing defence innovation ecosystem.

At the ARDE, along with the Defence Minister, members of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Defence are expected to attend the meeting. While the Defence Minister is chairman of the committee, its members include the Minister of State for Defence and MPs from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
