The IMD said the monsoon is expected to pick up from Friday. Most parts of the state will likely see heavy to very heavy rainfall in parts of Marathwada, Vidharbha and other parts of the state. IMD’s forecast is for the next seven days for most parts of the state. A low pressure area has formed over the Bay of Bengal, near northern Andhra Pradesh, which has caused heavy rains in the southern state. IMD had remarked this was the first low pressure of August and was expected to bring good rains. Due to the low pressure area, some parts of the state will receive extreme rain in the next seven days.
