Police said the victims are into the business of selling goats. They were going towards the marketplace in Phaltan in a car. (File)One person was killed and three others injured after a speeding car in which they were travelling fell into a canal at the Shindawane village on the Uruli Kanchan – Jejuri road on Thursday morning.
Police have identified the deceased as Amar Sahebrao Ghadge (28), a resident of Junnar. Those injured have been identified as Ganesh Thorat (22), Shubham Ingole (21), both from Wagholi, and Aditya Taware (20) of Junnar.
Police said the victims are into the business of selling goats. They were going towards the marketplace in Phaltan in a car. Around 6.30am, the car driver lost control, due to which the vehicle collided with the railings and then fell into the canal.
Locals rushed to the spot to rescue the victims. While three people were rescued from the car, the driver, Amar Ghadhe, died in the incident. An FIR in the case was lodged at the Uruli Kanchan police station of Pune rural police.
