Pune metro to run till 2 am during 7 days of Ganesotsav
Additionally, the Pune metro will operate continuously for 41 hours from 6 am on September 6 to 11 pm on September 7 in light of Anant Chaturdashi.

The Pune Metro will be operational till 2 am from August 30 to September 5 during Ganeshotsav, which means metro services will be available for 20 hours every day for the seven days.
Additionally, the metro will operate continuously for 41 hours from 6 am on September 6 to 11 pm on September 7 in light of Anant Chaturdashi. On the first three days of the festival, from August 27 to August 29, the metro will operate during normal hours from 6 am to 11 pm.
From August 15, the Pune metro increased peak-hour frequency from 7 minutes to 6 minutes due to increased ridership and passenger demand. The Swargate station line extension on the Purple line of the metro was inaugurated late last year, with stations Kasba Peth, Mandai, and Swargate connecting to the District Court. These stations are located in the heart of the city. Many important Ganpati Mandals are located in the Peth areas, and these new metro stations will make their access easier for the general public.
“Pune residents and devotees coming from outside will be able to celebrate this year’s Ganeshotsav with fast, safe, and easy travel using the Pune metro. This time extension provided by the administration will be a positive step for the city’s transport system and environmental protection, and passengers should take advantage of it,” said Shravan Hardikar, Managing Director, Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation.
The Pune metro saw an increase in ridership during Ganeshotsav last year, and a similar boost is expected this year. Gridlock traffic due to road closures during the festival and rainfall make the metro an attractive option for commuting.
