Pune: Man beaten to death by gym trainers

The cops have arrested the two accused Yash Patole (25) and Pranjal Taware (22), both of whom are gym trainers and also co-own the shop selling protein and other nutrition supplements in Charholi area.

TWO GYM trainers — a 22-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man — allegedly beat a man to death with metal rods in the protein supplement shop they own in Charholi area. Probe revealed that the attack was a fallout of a fight between the accused and the deceased over the latter verbally abusing them and creating ruckus in their shop.

Police have identified the deceased as Gopinarh Varpe alias Lalla (35), who was unemployed. The cops have arrested the two accused Yash Patole (25) and Pranjal Taware (22), both of whom are gym trainers and also co-own the shop selling protein and other nutrition supplements in Charholi area.

“Probe suggests that Varpe came to the shop on Wednesday afternoon. He started hurling abuses at Patole and Taware and started creating ruckus. This escalated to a fight. Taware and Patole beat up Varpe with metal rods on his head and elsewhere on the body. Varpe was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. Later Taware and Patole came to the police station. They have been arrested and have been booked for murder,” said an officer from Dighi police station.

Patole and Taware have been booked under Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita section for murder.
