Pune: Fire at Praj Matrix company in Mulshi

Fire officials said the situation was brought under control within an hour

A major fire was reported at the premises of Praj Matrix Company at Urawade in Mulshi taluka of Pune district on Friday night.

Fire officials said the fire was reported around 8.45 pm. Teams of the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) fire brigade and Pirangut MIDC fire brigade were soon rushed to the spot.

A Pune rural police team and local ambulance service was also pressed into action.

Devendra Potphode, chief fire officer of Pune and PMRDA fire brigade, said, four fire tenders of the PMRDA fire brigade and two of Pirangut MIDC conducted the fire fighting operation. PMRDA fire officer Vijay Mahajan said no casualties were reported in the incident.

The fire fighting operation went on till late at night. Fire officials said the situation was brought under control within an hour.

Meanwhile, attempts were on to confirm the cause behind the fire. Fire officials said that prima-facie, it is known that some solar panels and other material inside the company was gutted in the incident.
