After receiving information about the incident, a team from Kondhwa police station reached the spot. Police said that after primary probe, the process of lodging an offence against Arbaz under section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) had been initiated.
A driver died by jumping from the sixth floor of a building in Kondhwa on Wednesday afternoon, soon after he circulated his video on social media, in which he had disclosed the reason behind the extreme step.
Police said the deceased Tohid Mehmood Shaikh (45) lived in Kondhwa, and had been employed as a driver and supervisor at a private office for the last few years. A police probe revealed that Tohid took the extreme step following a dispute with his employer Arbaz Memon. Tohid recorded a video on his cellphone wherein he said that Arbaz allegedly insulted him before his father-in-law, which left him miserable and heartbroken. Tohid posted the video on some social media groups and then jumped from the sixth floor of a building under construction at Kausar Baug in Kondhwa. Meanwhile, his video went viral.
