ProSIM R&D has entered into a partnership with Tokyo-based Hitachi to provide advanced design simulation solution for the casting industry in India.
The partnership aims at catering to over 5,000 small and medium casting companies in the country,providing software and services related to casting simulation. The announcement was made by the management at a press conference on Thursday.
The casting industry in India is spread in clusters in Pune,Belgaum,Kolhapur,Mumbai,Rajkot,Delhi,Agra,Bangalore,Coimbatore etc. With the reduced turnover cycles of automobile,power plants,aerospace industries,providing castings to big companies in a short time. Through this,we plan to offer casting solutions to such suppliers,with the help of computer simulation, said S Shamasundar,managing director,ProSIM R and D. While simulation softwares for designing purpose have already been present in the market,this software,specifically targeted for the casting industry is priced between Rs 25- 40 lakhs.
“While we primarily plan to target industries with turnover between Rs 25- 300 crore,we will also be providing only solutions to those who are not able to invest in software. Costing for services is independent from that of the software,” added Kenichi Morita,president,Ibaraki HITACHI Information Services.
