Professor killed in road mishap at Hadapsar

A professor from the technical department of Annasaheb Magar College in Hadapsar was killed on the spot when a speeding container knocked down the two-wheeler she was riding on the overbridge at Hadapsar on Wednesday morning.

The Hadapsar police have identified the deceased as Anita Anil Jagtap (35),a resident of Amar Cottage,Bhosale Nagar,Hadapsar. Police said that when Jagtap was going to her college in the morning around 7.05 am,an unidentified container knocked ther two-wheeler from backside. The impact was so severe that Jagtap fell on the road and was crushed under the wheels of the container. She died on the spot.

Her colleague Sunil Suresh Konde (39) who was also going to the collage via same road saw the accident. He has lodged the police complaint against the unknown container driver in this case. The Hadapsar police is investigating the case.

Earlier,in a similar accident on Monday evening,Swita V Devraju (40) of Bijlinagar,Chinchwad,who was a teacher at Hindustan Antibiotic (HA) school was crushed under the wheeler of a truck near HA company in Pimpri.
