Physically challenged from Barshi tops MPSC exam

Physically challenged Ramesh Gorakh Gholap hailing from Barshi in Solapur district has topped the examinations conducted by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission for various posts,the results of which were declared on Saturday.

Physically challenged Ramesh Gorakh Gholap hailing from Barshi in Solapur district has topped the examinations conducted by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) for various posts,the results of which were declared on Saturday. Of the 285 posts for which the exam was conducted,more than half,about 160,were grabbed by students from Pune city.

MPSC had conducted the exam in 2011 for Deputy Superintendent of Police/Assistant Commissioner Grade A,Assistant Commissioner of Sales Tax Grade A,Deputy Chief Executive Officer/Block Development officer Grade A,Finance and Accounts Services Grade B,Block Development Officer Group B,Deputy Superintendent of Land Records Group B,Assistant Regional Transport Officer Grade B and Deputy Tehsildar Grade B.

Gholap was selected for the post of Deputy CEO/ Block Development Officer Group A.

Gholap,who attended school and completed graduation in Barshi,took coaching classes in Pune city. He has also cleared the UPSC exams. Anand Patil of Study Circle, a competitive examination centre in the city which coached Gholap said,“He is hardworking and full of confidence. He was sure his rank would be among top five.”

21-year-old Arti Bansode,another successful candidate who got selected for the post of DySP and also topped among the NT-C girls said,“I am happy because I cracked the exam in my first attempt and at such a young age. It’s only the beginning.”

She hails from Latur and is an arts graduate.
