Peninsula Land Football: Surya Hawk,Pune Chest Hospital notch up narrow victories

Surya Hawk and Pune Chest Hospital defeated their respective opponents by single-goal margins in the Peninsula Land Pune District football league organised by the Pune District Football Association and held at the Range Hills football ground on Saturday.

In the second match of the day,Pune Chest Hospital (PCH) defeated Gunners FC 1-0

Surya Hawk and Pune Chest Hospital (PCH) defeated their respective opponents by single-goal margins in the Peninsula Land Pune District football league organised by the Pune District Football Association and held at the Range Hills football ground on Saturday.

In the first match of the day,Surya Hawks defeated Uttkarsh Krida Manch 1-0. Surya Hawks had a bright start to the game and were holding the ball well. Initially both the teams were struggling for the lead till the first half of the game. However the Surya Hawks increased their frequency of attacks on the rival’s goalpost in the second half.

They were rewarded for their pressure in the 40th minute when Arjun Gupta opened the scoring for his team.

Gupta latched on to a smart pass from Suraj Gaikwad and had no trouble in putting the ball into the net.

In the second match of the day,Pune Chest Hospital (PCH) defeated Gunners FC 1-0. Pune Chest Hospital had a decent start to the game and were passing the ball with gusto.

Mendis Fernandes opened scoring for his team in the 15th minute of the game.

On the other side Gunner Football Club were looking completely out of the game and had hardly launched any attack on their own.

The referee blew his final whistle soon after,and the match ended 1-0,PCH emerging victorious.
