Israel flag stickers pasted on Pune streets, 3 FIRs lodged

At least three FIRs were lodged in Pune against people who allegedly pasted stickers with images of the Israel flag on different roads in the city on Friday night with the intentions of allegedly disturbing social harmony.
As per the FIR lodged at the Samarth police station, stickers of the Israel flag were pasted on the road near Hope Hospital in Nana Peth around 11.50 pm on Friday. Senior police inspector Suraj Bangdar and other police officials visited the spot.
The FIR mentioned that two persons identified as Saeed Pathan and Shahnawaz Shaikh, allegedly procured these stickers from one Hafiq Shaikh alias Nonya and stuck it on streets, while people walked on it, allegedly to provoke riots and hamper the social harmony.

Police have booked Pathan, Shahnawaz and Nonya under sections 153 (provocation with intent to cause riot), 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
In a similar incident, stickers of the Israel flag were pasted on the Mahatma Phule Road near Chudaman Talim in Bhavani Peth around 11.45 pm on Friday. After receiving information, a police team, including deputy commissioner of police Sandeep Singh Gill visited the spot. An FIR was lodged against unidentified persons in this case.
Israel flag stickers were also pasted on the streets in the Pune Camp area.An FIR was lodged against six persons.
