The Khadki Cantonment Board (KCB) members have complained to the Board that for over a year now Board officials are neither preparing sanitation diaries nor are they putting them before the Health Committee.
Cantonment Board members said sanitation diary is to be presented before the Health Committee on a regular basis. The diary gives details of different health indicators, including area-wise reporting of diseases, facilities in cantonment hospitals, condition of drains and public stand posts. Presenting the sanitation report before the Health Committee is the basic job of cantonment officials which they are not doing, said cantonment board member S L Kamble.
He added that the sanitation report should include the condition of hotels, the food that is served there as well as the hygiene maintained by hotel staff, pointing out that such action is lacking in the board for a long time.
The cantonment area has some 100 hotels and the staff present in the hotels should have also been checked for their health parameters to be part of the sanitation report, added the official.
Health Committee chairman Kamlesh Chaskar said,The report has not been given for the over two years. Chaskar said the issue has been brought to the notice of higher officials of the Board but no action has been taken.
