Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Tuesday met tourists, who were injured in the bridge collapse tragedy in Pune's Kundamala, at a private hospital in Maval taluka. He also visited the Kundamala area and inspected the bridge which collapsed on Sunday that killed four tourists and injured 38. "The incident is very unfortunate. The government will take action against officials if they are found guilty," Pawar told reporters. District Collector Jitendra Dudi, MLA Sunil Shelkhe and other officials accompanied Pawar to the tragedy site and the hospital. Pawar said the government has announced compensation for those killed in the incident. ''The government is bearing the medical expenditure of those injured in the incident,'' he said. Pawar said the government has initiated a probe into the bridge collapsed incident. "Strict action will be taken against those who are found guilty," he said.
