Notorious sex racketeer booked yet again

Once at the bungalow,Kalyani allegedly directed the girl to go into a room and have sex with two persons,who the latter assumed were the former’s customers. Kalyani allegedly took Rs 80,000 from the two customers for providing them with a girl to have sex. However,when the girl refused,Kalyani and her aides allegedly locked hr up in a room inside the bungalow for two days.

Following the girl’s complaint,police have booked Kalyani and her aides under Sections 420 (cheating),342,323,504,34 of Indian Penal Code as well as under Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA). Senior police inspector Ajay Kadam is investigating the case.

Meanwhile,Kalyani was earlier booked for at least 18 serious crimes,that included mostly sex-racketeering and also a murder in 2005 under Haveli police station. Kalyani is known to be a “pimp” with high profile contacts and strong network,which she uses to operate sex rackets across the city,even after being arrested several times in the past.

She has been on police record since 2000. She is wanted in six cases by the Deccan police,seven by Chatushringi police station,two by Kothrud PS,one each by Hinjewadi,Vishrantwadi and Haveli police stations. She was last booked in a case registered by social security cell of Pune police’s crime branch in June 2012 for allegedly operating a sex racket in Kothrud.

Kalyani is alleged to have lured many girls from Mumbai,Pune and other areas into sex trade. She is also alleged to have developed network with some hotels in the city where rooms are often booked for her customers. A resident of Pashan said that Kalyani’s bungalow on Sus Road is a famous spot known for sex trade and criminal activities. The bunglow’s repute also extends to a murder,that of her close aide Anil Dhole in December 2007. Dhole worked as an agent for girls brought from Mumbai for prostitution. Police said she was also arrested under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act after her name cropped up in the murder case at Haveli police station. However,each time she was released on bail,she would go back to her usual self.

Incidentally,in April 2012,the state anti-corruption bureau arrested inspector Balsaheb Surve and constable Mohammed Hanif Abbas Shaikh of Hinjewadi police station for allegedly asking for bribe of Rs 40,000 from Kalyani’s cousin Jatin Chawda if they were to not to seek extension of her police custody in court. On March 31,2012 Hinjewadi police arrested Kalyani in a flesh trade case. The case was later transferred to inspector Bhanupratap Barge of crime branch for investigation.
