With Navratri beginning from Friday, the Pune city traffic police announced road closures, along with traffic changes and diversions, which will be in force from October 3 to 12 on account of the nine-day festival.
These changes are primarily for the areas around Chatushrungi Temple, Bhavani Mata Temple and Tambdi Jogeshwari temple, which attract a large number of devotees. Police said these areas are expected to witness traffic congestion during peak hours, in spite of the changes implemented.
Vehicles will not be allowed from Appa Balwant Chowk to Bhudhwar Chowk and an alternate route has been chalked out via Gadital Putala and Shivaji Road. However, one-way traffic is allowed to ply from Bhudhwar Chowk to Appa Balwant Chowk.
