Maharashtra MP seeks safety audit of Pune station

“In light of the incident in Mumbai, and considering the ever-increasing traffic at Pune railway station, I have demanded that a safety audit be carried out,” said Pune MP Anil Shirole.

In a letter to Central Railway’s General Manager D K Sharma, Pune MP Anil Shirole has sought a safety audit of Pune railway station, in the wake of the Elphinstone Road station stampede. According to Shirole,Sharma has promised that such an exercise will be carried out soon.

“In light of the incident in Mumbai, and considering the ever-increasing traffic at Pune railway station, I have demanded that a safety audit be carried out,” said Shirole.
