Moral purpose in focus at youth camp

The junior youth spiritual empowerment programme camp for the Class VIII students of New Era High School,Panchgani,was held in Pune at the Orchards Resort located on Satara Road recently.

The junior youth spiritual empowerment programme camp for the Class VIII students of New Era High School,Panchgani,was held in Pune at the Orchards Resort located on Satara Road recently.

Around 100 students and eight animators took part,along with logistic staff.

“This camp was the third in the series organised by the management for its current academic sesion. The main aim was to urge the students to develop a strong sense of youth identity,moral purpose,the capacity to shoulder the responsibility of spiritual and moral obligations that become binding on them at this crucial juncture of their lives,” said Valentina Bhargava,coordinator of the moral education programme at the school. Bahai-inspired and prepared by the Ruhi Foundation in Colombia which is a Bahai inspired socio and economic organisation that works for the development,material and spiritual empowerment of the people of Colombia at the grassroots level,especially through education.

“There were about six groups of students. There were approximately two animators in each group. Some of the concepts learned by the students during this six day camp were- importance of Material and Spiritual Progress,importance of Knowledge,consultation,unity and so on.

The closing ceremony of the camp was held on October 22 where the children presented all their learning from the six day camp.
