How did the US military locate bin Laden,and how did the SEAL forces defeat him? Death of Bin Laden,an exclusive one-hour programme that provides a detailed minute-by-minute account of the Bin Laden operation,will première on the Discovery Channel on Monday,June 5 at 5 pm. With the help of a global team of local reporters,fixers and cameras on the ground in Abbotabad,Pakistan,the programme will go into the finer details of the planning and execution of the operation and will try and answer key unresolved questions including those regarding the number of special ops forces involved,how facial recognition was used to identify Bin Laden,the matter of the abandoned and destroyed helicopter,among others. The programme also investigates how intelligence gathered information that led them to Bin Laden’s hideout and the planning of the operation,the role of different governmental agencies,the lead-up to the mission,the specialised military techniques and equipment used in the execution of the operation and then finally,the burial of Bin Laden at sea.
