Unidentified persons pointed a knife and robbed three workers of an under construction Metro station in Pune’s Kasba Peth area Thursday.
One of the victims, Wajid Khan (27), a resident of a labour camp in Mundhwa, lodged the first information report (FIR) at the Faraskhana police station.
The police said Khan and his colleagues Amol Gujar and Janardan Yadav are workers at the underground Metro station being constructed at the Sattauti chowk in Kasba Peth.
After having a cup of tea at the Pawale Chowk, they were walking back towards the under construction Metro station when the accused persons intercepted them around 5 pm. Soon, a quarrel broke out.
Subsequently, the accused took out knives and forced the workers to sit in an auto rickshaw and took them to a shop. The accused then forced the workers to transfer Rs 20,300 online to a shop owner in Shivajinagar.
They then took the money in cash from the shop owner and escaped. The investigation officer, police sub inspector Bhimrao Manjare, said the investigation is on and arrests are yet to be made.
