Mega drama portrays life of Sambhaji

Besides a huge stage,a 45-ft high model of a fort has been erected and camels,horses and an elephant will be present to lend a realistic feel. Extensive use of bullock carts,elaborate costumes,weapons and five stage changes are the other highlights of the production. An 18-ft gigantic ship will be another attraction. The whole drama is in recorded format and there will not be any actual dialogues exchanged between artistes. In this drama,contemporary language,drapery and sets have been presented to help the audience to relate with the past and give a real life feel. The play has been written by Prof Kishor Bhosale,with Kamlesh Dharmadhikari in charge of set direction and music by Chinmay-Satyajeet.

“It’s a great honour to play Sambhaji’s role and our team is working hard to make it successful. As it is recorded,we are concentrating more on our acting and expressions,” said Kolhe.

“I have played Sambhaji’s role before in a play but it was an indoor one. So performing in an open-air event will be a different experience. I will give my best,” he added. A 50 per cent discount will be offered to students and their parents,self-help groups and senior citizens on December 26,27 and 28.
