Marathi writer Rajan Khan’s son found dead in apartment, suicide suspected
Police said that a suspected suicide note found in the apartment in Somatne Phata allegedly points to financial issues as the preliminary cause

In a suspected case of suicide, son of renowned Marathi writer Rajan Khan was found dead at his rented apartment in Pune district on Monday evening, the police said.
The deceased has been identified as Debu Khan, a 27-year-old IT professional, said an officer.
Police said that a suspected suicide note found in the apartment at Somatne Phata allegedly points to financial issues as the preliminary cause for him to take the extreme step.
Talegaon Dabhade police station officials said that Debu Khan, who worked for an IT services company in Pune, had been living in the rented apartment alone for the past few months.
According to the police, Debu Khan’s landlady grew suspicious as he had not opened the door for a while and did not respond to her calls. “She then called Khan’s brother who came to the spot and found there was no response to his calls. Hence they alerted the police. The police team broke open the door and found Debu Khan’s body,” said Inspector Satyavan Mane, in charge of Talegaon Dabhade police station.
Inspector Mane added that the initial investigation suggests it was a case of suicide. “We have found a suicide note believed to have been written by the deceased. The note suggests that he took the extreme step due to financial issues. An investigation has been launched into the sequence of events leading to death,” the officer said.
