Total deaths at 4: Maharashtra logs 35 new Covid cases; 7 in Pune

Maharashtra has stepped up surveillance to identify Covid-19 cases. From January till date, a total of 7,389 samples were tested and 300 persons were detected with Covid-19.

Since January this year Maharashtra has reported 300 cases of Covid-19 with 242 being reported in the month of May. On Sunday the state health department reported 43 new cases.

While Mumbai logged 35 new cases, Pune reported 8 fresh Covid-19 cases. Four deaths reported were confirmed positive for Covid 19.

According to an official statement, 87 persons have recovered. Presently there are 209 active Covid 19 cases in the state.

In Pune seven new cases were reported on Sunday. Pune Municipal Corporation officials said that all the patients had mild symptoms.

Mumbai has seen a spike in cases. Of the total 300 Covid cases Mumbai reported, a total of 207 Covid-19 infections were in the month of May.

People have been urged not to panic and ensure they take appropriate measures like maintaining hygiene.

Those with comorbid conditions should take further care, state health authorities have said.
