Car hits police vehicle in Maharashtra minister Chandrakant Patil’s convoy in Pune
The driver of the car that hit the police vehicle in Chandrakant Patil’s convoy has been booked for rash driving.

A police vehicle in the convoy of BJP leader and Maharashtra Minister for Higher and Technical Education Chandrakant Patil was hit by a car in the early hours of Tuesday. No injuries were reported in the incident, officials said.
The incident took place around 12.30 am near Ashish Garden Hall on DP Road in Kothrud. “A Hyundai Venue car rammed into the police vehicle, a Mahindra Scorpio, from the minister’s convoy. The police vehicle has been damaged but the car that rammed into it suffered more damage. But since its airbags opened, no injuries were reported in the incident,” said a police officer.
Speaking to the media in the morning, Patil said, “The vehicle I was travelling in had passed and the police vehicle following my vehicle was hit by an outside car. Police have initiated necessary action.”
“The driver of the Hyundai car was taken to a police station and booked for rash driving. His medical examination has been done. The results of his blood alcohol level test are awaited,” the police officer added.
