Journalist dies at 79

Veteran journalist Vitthal Chintaman Inamdar passed away following heart attack.

Veteran journalist Vitthal Chintaman Inamdar passed away following heart attack. He was 79. An engineering graduate,he was Pune bureau chief of the Free Press Journal and Navshakti. Earlier,he worked in various newspapers,including Prabhat and Poona Daily Press. He is survived by his wife and two sons.

A Japanese language teacher and landscape designer Savit Upalekar also passed away after brief illness in the city.

She was 59. She was trained in Kyoto University in Japan.

She had given the keynote address in Japanese before the governor of Tokyo during the centenary year of Japanese Institute of Architects’ in 1986.

She had designed several Japanese style landscapes for industries in and around Pune,Solapur and Aurangabad.
