Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange-Patil on Friday warned Maharashtra Minister Pankaja Munde and her cousin Dhananjay Munde that the Maratha community will end their political careers if they did not stopping messing with them. He also issued a warning to Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, saying his party candidates would be defeated in the upcoming local self government elections. "I want to warn both of them. Do not mess with me. Don't listen to Chhagan Bhujbal. No one will come to save your political careers. Be wise. I want to state this clearly. Because of you two, I will also ensure Ajit Pawar and his party suffer during local self government body polls," Jarange said in Jalna on Friday. Jarange attacked Dhananjay Munde, saying those have blood on their hands should not speak about the Maratha community. Jarange said he would not take up the cause of farmers who have been hit hard by the recent floods. Jarange was reacting to Pankaja Munde's statement during a Dussehra rally in Beed on Thursday that the Maratha community should not be given the benefit of reservation under the OBC category. She said they are not opposed to Marathas being given reservation, but they are opposed to quota under the OBC category. "Don't take it from our plates. Our community is already starving today. I am not able to sleep watching our people suffer." Dhanajay Munde to opposed quota to Marathas under the OBC category. Reacting to his poser as to why the Maratha community was given quota under OBC category, Jarange said, "Then why does he take quota benefits from Banjara community? Good, now Marathas in Beed will realise their folly. If he is attacking me, it won't make a difference to me." Jarange said, "If Marathas contest elections from their side (Mundes) and whomsoever Dhananjay Munde campaigns for, we will ensure their defeat." Reservation under the OBC category was given by the BJP-led Mahayuti Government on September 2 by issuing a government resolution on implementing the Hyderabad gazetter, which allows eligible Marathas to apply for Kunbi caste certificates, enabling them to get quota in government jobs and the education field. The activist said if anyone opposes Maratha quota, then the Maratha community should also demand the cancellation of the 1994 government resolution which gave quota to several communities in the OBC category. "The government should cancel the two per cent additional quota which goes beyond the 50 per cent ceiling fixed by the Supreme Court," he said.
