The Symbiosis School entered the semifinals in the Under-17 Boys section of the Pune District Interschool Badminton Championship played at the PDMBA Complex,Shivajinagar yesterday,blanking the Vikhe Patil Memorial School 2-0. Rohan Patwardhan set the ball rolling for Symbiosis,giving them the lead through a 21-15,21-13 win over Yash Jamenis. Amey Tillu and Ankur Tothe then beat Jamenis and his partner Shubham Lunkad 21-12,21-11 in the doubles rubber to complete the victory. Vikhe Patil got their revenge in the Under-17 Girls' quarterfinal,edging out Symbiosis 2-1. Sanchi Dham rushed through the first set against Natasha Bhagwat 21-5,but was made to sweat for a 25-23 win in the second. Dham then teamed up with Rucha Rajopadhye to beat Bhagwat and Rutha Pandit 21-19,21-17 in the doubles. Pandit managed to give Symbiosis some consolation,winning the reverse singles against Rajopadhye by a margin of 21-19,21-18.
