One is struck by the miniature scale of everything – from the furniture,to the books and ofcourse the patrons,who are mostly young children,gleefully exploring the place.

Brightly decorated with shades of green,blue,orange and yellow,the café is awash with light from the massive window running along the length of the room. Aiming to provide a safe and fun ‘family hangout’,Kid’s Café is well-equipped for children anywhere between four to fifteen years of age.

“The menu as well as the ambience of Kid’s Café has been planned according to the tastes of the children,” Pankaj Upadhay,MD and CEO of Kid’s Cafe. The lower floor houses a book corner,where children can pick their favourite titles and settle down to read on a miniature stool. Alternatively,the café also has visiting story-tellers or story-readers for group sessions. Children who are more interested in games have a plethora of options to choose from. As soon as we entered the café,we noticed the mini football table and a miniature air hockey corner. The café also has an electronic gaming console,which enchanted the younger and the older children alike,who were queuing up to try their hand at it. While most facilities in the café can be used free-of-charge,the game console comes with an extra charge. The café’s regular menu includes noodles,pasta,burgers and fries; all of which are favoured by children and are cooked mildly for their sensitive palate. It also offers baked items such as muffins,apple pie,flavoured mousse and beverages such as milkshakes and smoothies for children and tea and coffee for the accompanying adults. One can visibly notice the young kids rushing through their meal,in an excitement to try out the new miniature car track on the above floor.

“We also plan to start daycare services at the cafe soon,” says Upadhay.
