Pune: History sheeter killed by bouncer in Sinhagad Road bar brawl

Police suspected he had fled from the open jail. A first information report (FIR) in this case was lodged at the Yerwada police station on Monday. Police then launched a search for Dusane.

Meanwhile, police havaldar Yashodha Vedpathak of Market Yard police station, who was on a foot patrol with two policemen from Shivneri road to Vakhar Mahamandal, spotted Dusane near gate number 1 of the Market Yard, on Wednesday.

Vedpathak and her two colleagues went after Dusane as he was acting suspiciously. He started running from the spot after seeing the police. But the cops chased and nabbed him quickly. He was then brought to Market Yard police station as per instructions of senior police inspector Maya Devare.

“Havaldar Vedpathak and two policemen were on foot patrol duty, in anticipation of the Bharat Bandh protest. They saw the accused moving suspiciously and nabbed him. After confirming he was the accused who had fled from open jail, we handed Dusane over to the Yerwada police station for further investigation,” said senior inspector Devare.

Police said Dusane is a native of Vaijapur in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. After escaping from jail, he roamed the city and came to the Market Yard, where he was nabbed, police said.

Dusane was arrested in a murder case from 2015 in the jurisdiction of Warje Malwadi police station in Pune city. A court in Pune held him guilty for murder in 2021 and granted him imprisonment for life. He subsequently had been serving his punishment in Yerwada Central Prison.
