Kindney donation
Seema Divekar,resident of State banknagar,Bibvewadi has given new life to Mukund by donating a kidney to him. Mukund (35) is a computer engineer and his kidneys were not working properly. He was on dialysis,when Seema Divekar came to know about this,she voluntarily decided to donate a kidney to Mukund. “Social work is my aim,I will do whatever is possible to me for the well being of poor people,” said Seema. She was honored by Ankur Kasavkar a president of Dnyansagar Foundation,Kirki for her voluntarily good deed. “Seema has shown her social responsibility by donating a kidney to neighbor Mukund” Kasavkar said. Narendra Bagnaik,Ashok Shejul,Premkumar Javale were present for programme.
IBD Day
World Gastroenterology Organisation is observing May Inflammatory Bowel Disease” (IBD) Day to create awareness regarding this disease. The influence of IBD is rising gradually,especially in developing countries,Including India. Many countries are actively taking part in creating this awareness programme. IBD is a group of inflammatory conditions of the colon and small intestine. IBD affects young people and its peak age of onset is typically the third decade. An awareness drive regarding IBD in rural India will run from May 1 to May 30 at the Digestive Endoscopy Centre,Clover Centre,Camp in the city.
Thyroid Day
The Indian Thyroid Society and Abbott India Limited will be organising an awareness campaign on the occasion of World thyroid Day on May 25. Thyroid disorders are very common and it is estimated that 4.2 crore Indians are suffering from thyroid disorders with almost 90 per cent undiagnosed.
