Each art requires a constant practice, and painting is no different

Each art requires a constant practice, and painting is no different. Artist Dyanesh Gholap, who will be showcasing his paintings in his second-ever exhibition in the city, says that all artists should paint figurative subjects as a study or ‘Riyaz’. An alumni of Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya,Gholap deals with subjects of rural Maharastrian culture, especially of the Peshwa period. “I am thinking of diversifying into other subjects – I’m interested in mythological themes, like the Mahabharat – but to reach there will take a long time,” says the artist. The paintings are on exhibition till March 9 at the Bliss Art Gallery,Koregaon Park.
