Finally,land identified for Koregaon Park police station

Pune Police Commissioner Satyapal Singh on Saturday said that he has sent a proposal to the state government for setting up the Koregaon Park police station on a private land.

Pune Police Commissioner Satyapal Singh on Saturday said that he has sent a proposal to the state government for setting up the Koregaon Park police station on a private land.

Singh said that a private plot of 12,000 sq ft has been identified in Koregaon Park. “We have asked Municipal Commissioner Mahesh Zagde to acquire this land. A proposal to set up a police station on this land has been forwarded to all the concerned government offices,” he said.

There was a tussle between the PMC and Pune police over the land required for police station.

Meanwhile,the Mudhwa police station has not yet become functional despite getting required approval. Sources said that a few months ago,necessary furniture were bought and new rooms were set up but it has not become functional.
