The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Business Software Alliance (BSA) announced the launch of ‘leadership in software asset management’ under the umbrella of ‘Progressive Maharashtra’ campaign supported by the Government of Maharashtra.

This programme aims to recognise companies in the state for their leadership in software asset management and to promote the importance of IT governance and Intellectual Property Rights in software.

Through this campaign,FICCI and BSA will educate, engage and encourage small and medium enterprises in the state to improve their IT governance standards to become competitive globally.

According to Keshav Dhakad, chairman of the BSA India Committee,as the small and medium enterprises grow and the economy continues to strengthen in Maharashtra,it is critical that the industry is sensitised on managing enterprise software as an invaluable asset.

This will increase data security, boost employee productivity, and reduce financial and legal risk for companies.

BSA aims to educate and engage organisations on adopting this critical ISO recognised Software Asset Management (SAM) standard,” he said.
