Fergusson College lifted the basketball title at Vedant,a sports festival hosted by the BJ Medical College at their grounds on Saturday ,with a thoroughly one-sided victory over the Armed Forces Medical College.
Fergusson grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck right from the starting whistle,and completely dominated their opponents. Some strong defensive play and rebounding,coupled with quick and precise counterattacks from the FC players completely shut down the AFMC game as they raced to a massive 55-22 lead by halftime.
AFMC mounted a comeback of sorts in the second half,but they were unable to gain enough momentum to cut into Fergussons lead,as the latter won by a comfortable 23-point margin.
Arjun Shewale’s 27-point effort proved decisive in leading the Fergusson College to victory,while Vishnu Prasad and Sumit Khurana scored 15 points apiece to ensure that AFMC went down fighting.
