Careerversity launches management courses
CareerVersity,a new age career education institute,lauched its industry-backed post-graduate courses in Pune at a news conference here on July 5. The institute offers three primary courses in engineering management,hospital management and corporate management.
Dr Arun Nigavekar and Kedar Nigavekar spoke about the motivations behind setting up the institute. There is a gap in learning and application for most students in India. We plan to focus on profession-domain linked soft skills,which will help these students proceed with their careers, said Dr Nigavekar.
The courses will be officially launched in August and will cost Rs 2 lakh for two years. The institute also offers additional courses such as Spanish lessons and international study tours. Each course will have 60 students,who will have to undergo an aptitude test as well as a personal interview for selection. The institute will also hold a free seminar for parents and students of the hospital management course on July 16 and for the engineering management course on July 23.
Principals to discuss education system
In order to discuss the various challenges of modern education system,around 100 school principals from various schools in and around Pune are gathering together on Saturday. The principals conference is aimed at providing high quality professional development and will explore various aspects of educational leadership. The event would work as a common platform for all leading professionals to share and discuss their ideas and views in the field of education. Sangeeta Tiwari,Dr Sumantai Karandikar,Dr William Smith and Sangeeta Gole are few of the speakers who will be speaking on topics like continuous comprehensive evaluation,accreditation,leadership and professionalism.
College admission: Form sale ends today
Today will be the last day of sale of forms for junior college admissions. While the ICSE and CBSE forms will be sold at the Marathwada Mitramandal College of Commerce,the forms for other boards will be sold and accepted only at Fergusson College. Of the 71,932 forms sold,53,926 forms had been recieved across the centres. The maximum number of forms to be accepted were for the science faculty,which came up to 24,736. Starting from Thursday,the admission procedure for bi-focals will begin.
Couselling session on career prospects
Sancheti Healthcare Academy (SHA) will organise a one-day counselling session with its senior management team about the placement and career prospects after pursuing healthcare management post graduate course. The counselling sessions will be held on July 7 between 2.00 pm and 4.30 pm at the Sancheti Healthcare Academy. Goals and directions to the healthcare industry will be discussed. Youth for Peace: City students among finalists
Symbiosis Law School students finished as the finalists in the VI International Law Competition Youth for Peace for the second consecutive year. The event was held in Minsk,Belarus. International Law Competition is an annual contest for law students hailing from different countries. The participants are expected to demonstrate good knowledge of international humanitarian law,international public law,human rights law and ability to adapt to and orient in the changing environment.
