The Devgiri Emperors secured a convincing victory over the Torna Tigers in their Maharashtra Premier League match played at the Deccan Gymkhana on Friday,with Soloman Chopade producing a resounding all-round performance that won him the Man-of-the-Match award. Chopade destroyed the Torna bowling with a blistering knock of 92 off just 65 balls,studded with eleven fours and two huge sixes.
He was supported by Amit Patil,who scored 62 off just 39 balls. The two batsmen put on a partnership of 151 for the 3 rd wicket,that allowed Devgiri to post a huge total of 176/4.
The Tigers went about the run-chase well,with Karan Nande and Virag Awate putting on a 66-run partnership for the 5 th wicket. Nande scored 45 off 27 balls,while Awate rotated the strike,scoring 42 off 40 balls. However,some disciplined bowling by Chopade and Kishor Bhikane,who took two and three wickets respectively ensured that they were bowled out for 156.
