City schools are going all out to ensure that security is not breached on their campuses after the German Bakery bomb blast. Notices like,You must produce an identity card,which should have a photo of yours along with your wards for entering the school campus… are now being sent to parents. While some schools are restricting entry to outsiders,others are planning to install close circuit television (CCTV) cameras on campus.
Bishop School that has campuses in Camp,Kalyaninagar and Undri has made photo identity card mandatory for all parents. A parent,be it mother or father,should have the ID card with their photo along with their wards to enter the school campus. Similarly,all transporters ferrying students should also have identity cards. Visitors will be issued separate entry pass after verification, said Frank R Freese,principal,Bishop School. He added,We already have seven CCTV cameras and more cameras will be added to this. We have also ordered for imperial floodlights.
Chakrabarty said five CCTV cameras are already installed on the school premises with the feed to her room. We are spreading awareness among the students, she said.
Schools are planning to conduct awareness sessions by experts from police department,fire department and crisis management institutions. Leena Chaudhari,principal,Symbiosis School,said they have tightened the security and are in the process of installing CCTV cameras on the campus. Nobody is let in without proper security screening. Vehicles are also thoroughly checked, she said.
